Healthy, enjoyable meals every day.
We believe lunchtime is an important part of the school day – not just for nutrition, but also for social learning and enjoyment. Children can either bring a packed lunch from home or enjoy a hot meal provided by our caterers.
- Reception to Year 2: All children are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM), funded by the government. Find out more about UIFSM here.
- Years 3 to 6: Meals cost £2.40 per day and can be paid for securely via ParentPay, unless your child qualifies for free school meals.
We are a nut‑free school. Please do not send your child with any packed lunch or snack containing nuts or nut‑based products. This is essential to protect pupils with severe nut allergies.
Children eat together in the hall and two classrooms, making lunchtime a positive social experience. In warm weather, those with packed lunches may enjoy eating outside.
Your child may be entitled to free school meals if you receive any of the following:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (without Working Tax Credit, and with an annual gross income of £16,190 or less)
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credit (during the four-week period after employment ends or hours are reduced)
- Universal Credit (with annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, from 1 April 2018)
Meals are freshly prepared by Caterlink, who work in partnership with our Trust to provide nutritious and varied menus. You can view the current menu and learn more about Caterlink in the downloads section.
If you choose to provide a packed lunch, please download our packed lunch guidance from the side panel.
- Research shows that a healthy lunch can boost children’s behaviour and concentration in class.
- With rising concerns about childhood obesity and health issues, we encourage families to follow our guidance to support healthy eating habits.
- Water is always available at the dining tables, so an extra drink is optional.
